The Role

This role will involve working on fast-growing workstreams for household brand names in the consumer and corporate space. You will be provided with a clearly defined and well-supported path for career growth and the chance to work on programs focused on media relations, thought leadership, and trend-spotting.

We are looking for someone who takes a fresh, fun, creative approach to brand communications and media relations. If you can stay on top of shifts and trends happening in the media industry and have experience taking complex concepts and making them simple for top-tier business, consumer lifestyle, and trade media, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

* Ability to work in a multi-faceted, fast-paced environment
* Act as day-to-day client contact; continually foster client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource internally and externally
* Play key role in planning and implementation of account activities including account management, special events, media events, media relations, social media, program implementation, etc.
* Assist in developing and monitoring program plans; report status to client and agency management on a regular basis; assist in developing agendas and meeting recaps
* Support multiple account teams with various projects across the portfolio
* Work with different disciplines on the team, e.g. analytics, research, creative
* Demonstrate ability to effectively develop full range of written materials including client correspondence, media materials, social media content, reports, etc.
* Knowledge in using social media and digital platforms to drive awareness and ability to draft posts to generate engagement
* Proofread and edit documents; consolidate team edits; maintain records of supporting reference materials
* Aptitude to read and understand complex medical material. Ability to rewrite information into easily digestible format
* Continually build understanding and knowledge of clients' business and competitive environments; apply this information in preparing and presenting strategically focused programs and recommendations
* Research industry and marketplace trends and summarize for teams
* Develop an understanding of research methods, coordinate internal and external resources
* Be flexible and facilitate teamwork within account team; coordinate team resources
* Provide additional support to teams and DC office as necessary
* Participate in office-wide initiatives, including professional development and brainstorm sessions

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, public health, or a related field preferred
* One year of experience in public relations agency or a similar position
* Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and manage priorities
* Ability to work in multi-faceted, fast-paced environment
* Ability to juggle multiple projects with significant attention to detail
* Exceptional writing skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel

Compensation Package:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $62,637.50 - $78,349.25. Benefits at Porter Novelli include a range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, and generous paid time off benefits. Employees from diverse or underrepresented backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
