We are a comprehensive network of community health centers, providing Article 16 and 28 clinic services at 8 locations across Suffolk County, New York.
We are a multi-specialty healthcare provider caring for our community through Primary and Specialty Medical Care, Dental, Behavioral Health, Audiology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology.
We currently provide care to over 7,000 patients and have an annual operating revenue of $22m.

Clinical Responsibilities- Ensures all actions, job performance, personal conduct, and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner.
- Examines and provides direct patient care concerning dental/oral conditions; provides oversight in preventative care and develops treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines; refers individuals for specialty treatment as indicated.
- Advises patients, parents, or guardians on diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention; provides health and wellness advice to patients/families.
- Effectively communicates with other health care providers or community resources to provide comprehensive, all-encompassing care.
- Educates patients/families and the community about oral health-related disease and prevention and self-management of acute and chronic dental conditions; recommends interventions to modify behaviors associated with health risks.
- Prescribes appropriate medications, dosages, routes, and frequencies based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally authorized; counsels patients/families about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as over-the-counter and illicit drugs.
- Documents patient/dentist transactions as they occur to reflect an accurate and complete dental record based on the nature of the contact, patient condition, and treatment provided.
- Maintains compliance with productivity requirements ensuring timely completion of documentation (within 24 hours of the kept appointment) and thorough and accurate coding of patient visits.
- In collaboration with the management team, identifies and assesses new or changing practice needs; analyzes the impact on the practice (including staff, facility, equipment, operating costs, etc.) and initiates actions necessary to accomplish proposed goals.
- Facilitates necessary in-service training programs, space redesign, and equipment purchases associated with practice needs/goals; determines agency-wide impact and advises ancillary personnel accordingly.
- Develops efficiency-enhancing workflows, oversees implementation, and evaluates employee performance and functional or clinical service processes ensuring consistency with professional standards.
- Collaborates with the management team to develop an annual operating and capital budget that includes medical supplies, services, pharmaceuticals, staffing, and grants; identifies and analyzes financial impact (return on investment) of new or revised services.
- Monitors expenditure levels and takes action to ensure consistency with budgetary targets; considers the number of patients served, no-show rates, scheduling patterns, suite utilization, and cost per visit.
- Collaborates with the Dental Coordinator for successful front desk and billing practices; identifies opportunities to maximize financial success and growth.
- Ensures the continuous flow of communication with the leadership team to enhance the quality of healthcare service to our patients; provides monthly reports concerning issues, program status, initiatives, and progress to the Executive Leadership Team; provides reports for the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors as requested.
- Supervises practice staff including recruitment and termination, education, clinical competencies, performance evaluation, and expectations.
- Must possess a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) or Doctorate of Medical Dentistry (D.M.D.) Degree.
- Must be Licensed within the State of New York and be eligible for appropriate credentialing.
- Must meet all Continuing Education requirements.
- Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience and 5 years of training or practice in special care dentistry.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with staff and others involved in the delivery of service to patients.
- Knowledge of public health principles and practices; must be comfortable with community outreach.
- Administrative, management, and budget development experience.
- Must maintain confidentiality relating to treatment under HIPAA guidelines.
- Must be proficient with Electronic Dental Records.
- Familiarity with coding (CDT) and (ICD-10) and determining the level of service.
