Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Technologist to join our team at Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing technical supervision and clinical testing in various areas, including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical technology, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for coordinating instruction and documentation for new employees and students, as well as ensuring preventive maintenance on instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical supervision and clinical testing in various areas, including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology.
  • Obtain or receive specimens, perform laboratory tests, and evaluate quality control on a daily basis.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance on instrumentation is completed according to scheduled guidelines.
  • Interpret results as to their accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits, and inform the physician/nurse of critical values.
  • Coordinate instruction and documentation for new employees and students.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including CLIA, JCAHO, and CAP.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Medical Technologist.
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field of study.
  • Ability to work independently, read and analyze technical material, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Highly effective communication and relationship interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain knowledge related to Point of Care within the State of Nevada.
  • Reliable transportation for limited travel between hospitals and Urgent Care locations.
