Job Summary

The CT Technologist will coordinate services and activities specific to the Imaging area (CT and Radiology).

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of patient care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The CT Technologist will be responsible for performing CT scans and taking radiographs according to the standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the American College of Radiology, and the Texas Medical Board to assist in diagnosis or treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform CT scans and take radiographs according to established protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor patient throughput and ensure efficient use of equipment and resources.
  • Provide patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
  • Apply knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age-specific needs.
  • Exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintain a demeanor complementary of medical ethics.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology or a military training program of equivalent standards.
  • Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and post-primary certification in Computed Tomography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 6 months of hire.

St. David's Surgical Hospital is a destination surgical facility located in north Austin, Texas. A campus of St. David's North Austin Medical Center, this hospital features 40 inpatient rooms, several operating suites, pre-op and PACU bays, and an intensive care unit (ICU). The campus specializes in orthopedic, neurological, bariatric, gynecological, and urological surgeries, but includes services such as imaging and pharmacy.
