Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to inmates/detainees, with a focus on maintaining a safe and secure workplace. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing comprehensive physical assessments and medical histories
  • Evaluating patients' symptoms, reactions, and progress, and reporting problems to Physicians and management
  • Securingly administering medication, taking precautions against drug hoarding and trafficking
  • Providing patient education for chronic illnesses, post-hospitalization, and post-surgical procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an approved program; graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • A current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state the facility is located
  • Two (2) years of direct work experience preferred
  • Excellent diagnostic skills, patience, and natural empathy
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to:

  • Lift or carry and push/pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level
Compensation and Benefits
