Job Summary

MaineGeneral Medical Center is seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Physicist to join our team. As a key member of our radiation oncology department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy to patients.

About the Role

This position requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with expertise in therapeutic radiologic physics. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiation therapy treatment planning systems, imaging equipment testing and calibration, and shielding design principles.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement radiation therapy treatment plans in collaboration with dosimetrists and radiation oncologists.
  • Perform and monitor imaging equipment testing and calibration to ensure accurate patient dosimetry.
  • Develop and implement protocols and policies for radiation safety and quality assurance.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient radiation doses and treatment plans.
Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility as a Therapeutic Radiologic Physicist by The American Board of Radiology (ABR) or The American Board for Medical Physics (ABMP).
  • Strong knowledge of radiation therapy treatment planning systems and imaging equipment testing and calibration.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Compensation

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $145,000 - $165,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
