Overview

We are seeking a seasoned attorney with extensive civil litigation and trial experience to join our dynamic team in Southfield, MI.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional knowledge of civil procedure, the rules of evidence, no fault, and trial strategy. They should also have strong interpersonal skills, superior oral advocacy and writing skills, and the ability to manage a caseload where work is time sensitive.

This hybrid role requires the employee to spend some time in the office and virtually, with the possibility of changing work arrangements based on business needs. We offer a congenial, team-oriented, and professional work environment with skilled support staff.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Litigation Counsel, you will be responsible for handling complex civil litigation cases, including No Fault/PIP, Bodily Injury, and Premises Liability litigation. You will also participate in jury trials and provide guidance on lawsuit handling and courtroom presentation. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and contribute to the development of the law department.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school and excellent academic credentials. You should also have an active license to practice law in Michigan and be a member in good standing with the state bar. At least 3+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, is required. Jury trial experience is highly valued.

You should be proficient in automation and technological skills for lawsuit handling and courtroom presentation, as well as comfortable working in a paperless environment. Lastly, applicants must be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work opportunity.
