The Technology Integration Coach is a key member of our team, responsible for supporting the implementation of innovative instructional practices that promote student-centered deeper learning. This role involves working collaboratively with administrators and staff to integrate technology into daily instruction, providing job-embedded and ongoing professional learning experiences for teachers and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with building administrators to determine instructional technology training needs and integrate these needs into professional development plans.
- Meet regularly with instructional staff to plan, develop, model, and co-teach lessons that incorporate effective technology integration and authentic learning experiences.
- Develop and conduct professional development sessions related to the use of instructional software, applications, hardware, and peripherals.
- Provide assistance with the integration of various technologies into daily instruction.
- Research and investigate new instructional hardware and software to support teaching and learning.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices and resources in instructional technology and STEM integration, and disseminate this information to instructional staff through regular communication.
- Maintain and disseminate information on Internet sites appropriate for use in daily instruction, considering COPPA guidelines.
- Model the WJCC Strategic Plan values of Individualism, Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree and Virginia teacher license required; Master's in Instructional Technology or related field preferred.
- Minimum three years of classroom experience; five years preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of instructional strategies for adult learners and experience leading professional development.
- Demonstrated ability to implement instructional technology to support content curriculum, the WJCC Strategic Plan, and the VDOE Profile of a Virginia Graduate.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and collaborative instructional tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of curriculum, subject content, and student developmental needs.
- Ability to create relevant learning experiences for teachers and students by integrating technologies to enrich the instructional program.
- Demonstrated ability to research, locate, and deploy web resources to support instruction.
- Ability to plan, develop, and deliver training and ancillary materials related to technology integration.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with building administrators and instructional staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to develop complex instructional materials, documentation, and technical reports.
- Considerable knowledge of Internet Safety, digital citizenship, and cybersecurity.
- Basic knowledge of coding, robotics, game creation, and other logic-based programming.
- Strong foundation of pedagogy and teaching methodologies, including an understanding of SAMR (technology integration model).
