Software Development Faculty Opportunity at Community College of Philadelphia

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member to join our Computer Technologies Department as a full-time, tenure-track position.
The successful candidate will teach courses in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Web and App Development, and Data Science, and contribute to the exceptional training and pedagogy at the College.
The Computer Technologies Department offers various degrees and certificates in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, and Data Science, preparing diverse cohorts of IT specialists, software engineers, and computer scientists for successful careers.
Responsibilities- Teach computing courses to students with a broad range of career interests.
- S support community college students develop their computing and programming skills, professional attitudes and behaviors, for college and workplace success.
- Facilitate student learning, provide effective instruction, and perform evaluations of student learning for all assigned classes.
- Meet all classes and other scheduled responsibilities such as office hours and meetings at the designated times.
- Become expert in curricula and other course materials, prepare lectures, hands-on activities, and presentations for effective teaching.
- Assign grades and maintain course and student records in accordance with FERPA regulations and submit grades and records by established deadlines.
- Proactively identify and address student problems.
- Maintain and develop curriculum that is consistent with departmental learning objectives.
- Work with other faculty and administrators in developing program curriculum, standards, and policies.
- Participate in industry related professional development activities, meetings, and/or conferences.
- A master's degree in computer science or a closely related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience teaching relevant and related coursework at the college level as the primary instructor.
- Mastery of at least one, and familiarity with at least two of the following programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, C/++, R, or an assembly language.
- Knowledge of, and ability to integrate, current technological applications into our computing courses.
- Ability to deliver required, predefined course elements, while drawing from one's own knowledge and experiences, to engage students and make the course their own.
$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
