Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Social Worker II to join our team at Children's National Hospital. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychosocial support to patients and families across the continuum of care, including cardiac ICU, acute care unit, outpatient and fetal clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify patient and family needs
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to address psychosocial issues and promote patient and family well-being
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care and communication
  • Provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and grief and bereavement support as needed
  • Connect patients and families with community resources and services
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
  • Minimum 3 years of post-MSW experience in a hospital-based setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with high medical and psychosocial acuity
  • Ind. Clinical Social Worker licensure in the District of Columbia at minimum at the LICSW-level
