Senior Clinical Mass Spectrometry Specialist

Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) with extensive experience in LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) for a 12-month contract position in Richmond, CA. This opportunity involves applying cutting-edge technology to specialized chemical analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced chemical analyses of biological samples using LC-MS technology, ensuring precision and accuracy.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain LC-MS instruments and other relevant laboratory equipment.
- Interpret and analyze data generated from LC-MS to provide accurate and timely results.
- Validate new testing procedures and assist in method development related to LC-MS assays.
- Ensure strict adherence to SOPs and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot instrument and testing issues to ensure uninterrupted workflow and result accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with clinical teams and other lab staff to ensure effective communication of findings and patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and record-keeping for all testing procedures, results, and validations.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of junior staff or technicians in LC-MS procedures as needed.
Requirements:
- An active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license is required.
- A Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Proven experience in LC-MS is essential.
- A strong understanding of laboratory techniques, including calibration, troubleshooting, and data interpretation related to LC-MS.
- The ability to follow detailed protocols and maintain stringent quality control measures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits:
