Project Controls Specialist

Gray Construction is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Specialist to join their team in Lexington, KY.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work with a fully integrated, global service provider deeply rooted in engineering, design, and construction. As a Project Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting the project management team in developing the project cost work breakdown structure and job cost setup.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop project invoice schedule of values
  • Coordinate subcontractor prequalification enrollment
  • Manage the project cost tracking log
  • Manage subcontract and vendor invoices
  • Prepare project change request and customer change orders
  • Prepare commitment change orders
  • Prepare subcontract and PO requisition
  • Trend project cost and report deviations from plan
  • Complete project cost segregation for project close out
  • Manage project tax incentives and reporting where applicable
  • Prepare projects for close-out including review of commitments, cost, and contract values
  • Provide support for job cost audits and project-specific cost reporting requirements
  • Prepare bi-weekly project financial reports
  • Develop, update and monitor job progress using QMS program, including scheduling, estimating and budgeting to ensure that construction of project parallels with schedule
  • Perform quantity take off(s), cost estimates and bid solicitation
  • Supports project manager in reviewing and approving invoices and change orders
  • Attend weekly job site meetings
  • Assist in the preparation of various reports to assist in the successful management of the project(s), such as: monthly red files, progress analysis/schedules, billings and status reports
  • Assist in the organization and maintenance of job files to ensure continuity of workflow
  • Submit verbal and written reports on project status to supervisor
  • Communicate effectively with customer, direct consultants and subcontractors on the project(s)
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in accounting, mathematics, construction management, finance or related degree and/or a minimum of three years related experience
  • Basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet, CMS, and e-mail applications
  • Working knowledge of scheduling applications
