Job Title: Electrical Cost EstimatorAbout the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Cost Estimator to join our team at Quality Plus Services. As an Electrical Cost Estimator, you will play a crucial role in planning, budgeting, and ensuring cost control throughout industrial projects.

Your primary responsibility will be to estimate, analyze, and manage costs associated with electrical systems and installations. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Estimation:
    • Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical components, systems, and installations based on project drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
    • Analyze project requirements to develop material take-offs (MTO) and labor cost estimates for electrical work.
    • Use cost-estimating software and historical data to forecast project costs, including material, labor, equipment, and indirect expenses.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Develop comprehensive project budgets for electrical systems and installations.
    • Provide cost forecasting and cash flow projections for electrical work during project execution.
    • Work with finance and project teams to track budgetary spending and ensure it aligns with estimates.
  • Cost Control:
    • Monitor project costs and track any variances between actual and estimated expenses.
    • Implement cost control measures to identify and prevent cost overruns.
    • Analyze cost data, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions to ensure that the project stays within budget.
  • Bid & Proposal Review:
    • Assist in evaluating contractor bids and vendor proposals for electrical work.
    • Review cost proposals from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure they align with project budgets and scopes of work.
    • Negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Value Engineering:
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify cost-effective alternatives in design and materials.
    • Participate in value engineering efforts to optimize the electrical design and reduce costs while maintaining performance and safety standards.
  • Project Coordination:
    • Work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and electrical engineers to ensure alignment between cost estimates and project goals.
    • Provide support during project planning, procurement, and construction phases to ensure accurate cost management.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Prepare cost reports, including comparisons of actual costs versus budget and forecast updates.
    • Maintain and update cost databases, historical data, and records for future reference.
    • Provide regular updates on project financial status to management and stakeholders.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location: This is a remote job opportunity with occasional site visits required.
