About the Position:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Family Support Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with clients, service providers, and other staff to establish and maintain professional relationships that promote positive outcomes for families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Caseworker Functions: Provide case management, crisis intervention, and make referrals to ancillary services as needed
  • Families First: Ensure all family members participate in community programs by connecting them with relevant services and maintaining ongoing communication between family and program staff
  • Engaging Non-Custodial Parents: Communicate with and engage non-custodial parents offering them support services to assist them in reconnecting with their families
  • Maintaining Communication: Regularly communicate with family service providers to ensure seamless continuity of care
  • Home Visits: Conduct weekly home visits and additional visits as needed to assess family needs and provide support
  • Treatment Reviews: Participate in treatment reviews and other service provider meetings to ensure effective service delivery
  • Psycho-Educational Groups: Facilitate psycho-educational groups as opportunities arise to promote family well-being
  • Service Plans: Collaborate with clients to complete service plans and treatment goals
  • Reports and Documentation: Submit timely reports and documentation as required by the Prevention Director and funding sources
  • Flexible Work Arrangements: Be available to work flexible hours to accommodate family needs and attend community events related to client work
  • School Partnerships: Build relationships with schools to monitor attendance and address any school-related issues affecting clients
  • Communication: Regularly communicate with the C.A.R.E. program to ensure child/children's success

About You:

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong understanding of clinical concepts focusing on family strengths, experience working with diverse populations, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum one year direct experience working with children and families
  • Skills and Qualifications: Ability to demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of clinical concepts, experience working with individuals and families from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds

Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year based on qualifications and experience. Please note that the estimated salary range is subject to change based on various factors.
