Recreational Therapist

Job Summary
Perimeter Healthcare is seeking a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to join our team at our Forrest City location. As a key member of our residential services team, you will be responsible for planning and organizing recreation activities for adolescents aged 12-17, as well as maintaining inventory and monitoring activities.
Responsibilities
- Assess new residents for appropriate level of activities
- Maintain and keep inventory of recreation activities
- Plan and organize recreation activities for the facility
- Plan and oversee life skill activities for residents
- Stimulate client's interest and cooperation in activities through positive interaction and encouragement
- Complete clinical documentation on client's behavior
- Develop therapeutic skill methods and techniques focusing on social development
- Lead and participate in recreation services with clients
- Teach and assist clients in activities of daily living
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or related field
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification or active plans to obtain
- At least 1 year working experience in children's programs or residential setting
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain BLS and SAMSA verbal de-escalation certification within 30 days of hire
