Job Summary

The University of Arizona is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team in Residential Facilities. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing structural woodwork and related materials in our university dorms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and restore furniture, cabinetry, and other structural elements in dorms.
  • Design, estimate, fabricate, and install solid surface countertops, tile shower pans, and wall/floor tile repairs.
  • Lead and supervise the work of assigned staff and students.
  • Operate and maintain related equipment and tools.
  • Perform facility inspections and document work request activity.
Requirements
  • Journeyman level position with a high school education or equivalent combination of apprenticeship program, technical training, and/or experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University's policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a four-year federally approved technical training program in carpentry or six years of carpentry experience.
