The Opportunity

Abbott's Rapid and Molecular Diagnostics business is seeking a skilled sales professional to cover Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. This role involves finding ways to drive exponential growth with new business and operating as the primary account customer contact, focusing on menu expansion to improve economic profitability and increase customer loyalty for existing business retention via contract renewal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Works across multiple stakeholders, expediting complex decisions to quick wins.
  • Develops and deploys best practices, identifies new customer insights to drive business, and delivers above expectations.
  • Manages and drives new and continued development of accounts according to strategic plan.
Requirements
  • Urgency & accountability with resilience in challenging circumstances.
  • Excellent business planning and prioritization skills, cutting through complexity and developing best practices.
  • Leverages cross-functional teams and resources successfully.
  • Quickly develops trust and partnership with customer by demonstrating deep understanding of short and long-term needs and brings forward win-win solutions.
  • Interpersonal skills; savvy, polished, and professional, including customer interfacing experience with strong communication ability and people management.
  • Results-oriented; anticipate where sales shortfalls might be and implement contingency plans to close the gap, including trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn technical and scientific knowledge and utilize in selling situations.
  • Manage complex longer-term capital sales cycles.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2-5 years' sales experience in the molecular, diagnostics, core laboratory, point of care, or medical device capital equipment industry.
  • Computer skills (MS Office).
