Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director, Program Development & Event Planning to join our team at Stanford Conferences. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for developing and growing strategic programs that drive revenue growth across R&DE businesses.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute programs and events that generate revenue for R&DE businesses through strategic resource utilization.
  • Recommend new business opportunities to enhance current revenue streams and capture new markets.
  • Select, hire, train, and place summer student staff, determine staffing levels for developed programs, and supervise program staff.
  • Provide meeting planning services and serve as team lead for R&DE-hosted events, university-hosted events requiring R&DE coordination, and residential summer programs.
Key Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience or combination of education and experience.
  • Certified Meeting Professional certification or other related certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated history of creating innovative event planning strategies and successful collaborations.
  • Excellent judgment and decisiveness, high integrity, enthusiasm, diplomacy, and tact.
  • A collaborative leader who engages and empowers a team of event planning professionals, fostering a strong, cohesive team environment.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled at developing a staff of professionals and support personnel.
  • Demonstrated competency in budget management, cost accounting, and vendor contract relationships.
Salary and Benefits

This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $125,000 per annum and a dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth and professional development.
