Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Inside Sales Representative to join our team at American Iron and Metal. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our customers, identifying new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Relationship Management: Establish and maintain frequent and successful communication with customers to build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships.
  • Lead Generation: Participate in a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, direct mail, email, and networking.
  • Sales and Marketing: Communicate with customers, make outbound calls to potential customers, and follow up on leads to drive sales and revenue growth.
  • Purchasing and Procurement: Exercises a working knowledge of materials and sources of supply to make purchases at prices consistent with quality, delivery, and quantity requirements.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers on price, payment, and shipment terms and contracts to optimize cost effectiveness.
  • Inventory Management: Responsible for follow-up and shipment expenditures with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and updated lead-time and inventory information for proper planning.
  • Record Keeping: Keeping accurate records of relevant activities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly meeting with Sales Manager to review weekly customer retention and relationship activities, progress versus goals, and status of key customer relationships.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, scrap ferrous, purchasing, sales recycling, and metal industry.
  • College degree in related field (Finance, Economics, Business, Sales) a plus.
