Permanency Social Caseworker B

Arapahoe County is seeking a skilled Permanency Social Caseworker B to join our team. As a key member of our Child Welfare department, you will work closely with families to provide ongoing case management and support to achieve permanency for children and youth.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional ongoing case management to families, including developing and modifying treatment plans, monitoring case progress, and identifying barriers to permanency.
- Collaborate with families, collaterals, and other professionals to obtain additional information and coordinate services.
- Monitor progress of supervised visits between children and families, and work with Arapahoe County Visitation staff to understand parenting needs.
- Establish rapport with families, attend family meetings, and provide timely communication and reviews of all pertinent documentation.
- Work to ensure permanency for children and youth within 12 months of case open, and complete at least monthly face-to-face contacts with children and families.
- A bachelor's degree in social work or a human behavioral science field from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 30 semester credit hours or 45 quarter hours in a human behavior science field.
- One year of professional casework, case management, or human services experience in a public or private human services agency.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced and high-volume work environment, and handle high stress and complex situations while remaining calm and professional.
- Excellent organizational skills, strong ability to prioritize tasks, take initiative, and multitask.
- Ability to effectively present information, write reports, and respond to court, managers, customers, and other agencies via fax, telephone, and email.
This position requires flexibility with scheduling to meet family and county needs, and involves a considerable period of time (20-40%) away from standard office environment, including driving to and from home visits, collateral contacts, and transporting children.
At times, more than normal physical exertion is required in transporting children, and work may occur in situations where the incumbent is threatened with physical harm by hostile/angry clients.
