Budget Technician Job Description

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a skilled Budget Technician to join their team in the Atlanta VA Healthcare System's Fiscal Services department.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and Develop Annual Operating Budgets: Assist in creating comprehensive annual operating budgets that align with facility and service line goals.
  • Record and Analyze Budgetary Transactions: Process and review budgetary transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations and procedures.
  • Research and Compile Cost Data: Gather and analyze cost data to inform budget estimates and forecasts.
  • Review Budgetary Transactions: Verify that budgetary transactions meet funding requirements and comply with established protocols.
  • Analyze and Report Budget Data: Extract and analyze budget data to inform financial reports and decision-making.

This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: One year of specialized experience in budget analysis and planning is required.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

This is a full-time position with a Monday - Friday schedule. The job location is in Decatur, GA 30033.
