Job Summary

We're seeking a Product Design Engineer III to join our Industrial Design team. As a creative force behind our products, you'll design new solutions that are visually appealing, functional, sustainable, and aligned with market demands. Your team will create innovative visual concepts for new products and improve existing ones, considering factors like form, function, ergonomics, and user interaction.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be directly responsible for the 3D CAD design of new products and components. This hands-on role includes conducting performance tests, validation processes, and root cause analysis (RCA). You'll also provide on-site support to the manufacturing team to ensure seamless production and troubleshoot any design-related issues. Additionally, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to bring breakthrough innovations and best-in-class ceramic products to the market, ensuring design intent, functionality, and manufacturability.

The position requires a self-motivated, out-of-the-box thinker with strong time management and communication skills to provide the timing and schedules required to bring new products to market.

Requirements

Lead engineering design for mid-to-large-sized new product development projects
• Drive creation of schedules for engineering design and validation timing for NPD projects
• Create new product designs, including technical design, prototyping, testing, and tooling design
• Design 3D models to achieve product intent with design for manufacturing, working in collaboration with Industrial Design, Manufacturing, and Suppliers
• Test and validate ceramic samples by conducting hydraulic tests, providing detailed reports, and defining the proper component settings
• Create and maintain detailed dimensional drawings, bill of materials (BOM) drawings, and any required technical communication documents
• ECR/ECN Control - Maintain up-to-date drawings and 3D models with the latest revision changes using WindChill PDM system
• Provide technical support and problem-solving alongside Operation teams and suppliers associated with product design and process-related issues
• Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews, Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Provide and execute design schedules in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Work effectively in a team environment
• Mentor, guide, and support less experienced team members

Hiring Range

The hiring salary range for this position is $xx,xxx-$xx,xxx annually. (Salary offer to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)

This role will be eligible to participate in the annual Short Term Incentive plan.
