Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic 2 to join our Facilities Services Department at Clark College. This part-time position will support the maintenance and repair of our facilities, working closely with our team to ensure a safe and functional learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform semi-skilled work in various trades, including carpentry, plumbing, welding, and electrical work.
  • Assist journey-level trades workers with skilled tasks, such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment as needed.
  • Perform minor repairs on building fixtures, plumbing, and heating systems.
  • Transport materials and supplies using automotive equipment.
  • Assist in the fabrication of equipment and materials constructed in trade shops.
Requirements
  • Experience working in a commercial or education environment is preferred.
  • Experience in various trades, such as HVAC, paint, drywall, carpentry, and plumbing is a plus.
  • Good attendance and physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Good customer service skills and ability to work well with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
Working Conditions
  • Fixed negotiable schedule between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
  • Occasional hours offered outside of regular shift to avoid interruption to instruction.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to perform moderately heavy cleaning tasks and physical work requiring reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, climbing 12-foot ladders, and lifting 50 pounds from floor to 36 inches.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $27.24-$31.61 per hour. Clark College offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as retirement savings options.
