Career Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic team in Knoxville, TN. This role will involve working on innovative roadway design projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. As a Transportation Engineer with us, you'll collaborate with technical specialists who boast extensive expertise in various design areas, including roads, bridges, structures, traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, public transit, and more.

Responsibilities:

This position entails crafting cutting-edge designs, reviewing draft plans to ensure alignment with regulatory standards and firm policies. You will also be responsible for conducting site reviews and inspections of transportation structures, guaranteeing the highest quality of construction. Additionally, you will work closely with sales staff to develop proposals that meet the unique needs of current and potential clients, fostering strong client relationships. Your role will also involve attending conferences and symposia to stay abreast of industry trends and innovations, providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or a related discipline, as well as a Professional Engineer (PE) license. A minimum of 7 years of related experience is required, with domestic and/or international travel possible. Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Roadway Hydraulic Design experience is highly desirable. Salary: $93,000 - $124,000 annually, depending on qualifications.
