Intermountain Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager Lead to join our team at St. James Hospital in Butte, Montana.

Job Description

The Nurse Manager Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of patient care in the Emergency Department, ensuring a safe and professional environment that enhances interdisciplinary collaboration.

This role involves managing staffing, evaluating performance, facilitating clinical practices, and implementing safety measures while promoting a culture of safety and innovation.

The Nurse Manager Lead contributes to strategic planning, maintains regulatory compliance, and actively participates in professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops staffing matrices that facilitate safe, quality patient care using practice standards and stewarding resources.
  • Evaluates staffing patterns and unit demands, matching competency and patient acuity.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of labor laws and organizational policies related to human resources.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and onboards new associates.
  • Conducts associate evaluations, assists with goal setting, and initiates corrective action when necessary.
  • Facilitates associate education, ensures competency validation, and promotes professional development.
  • Retails associates and promotes cultural competence and diversity.

Clinical Practice Knowledge

  • Demonstrates growing knowledge of patient populations and standards of care delivery in the Emergency Department.
  • Facilitates performance improvement by identifying key performance indicators, establishing data collection methodology, evaluates data, and responds to findings with action plans.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Current license to practice in the state of Montana or ability to obtain license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
  • Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 2 years of hire.
