About the Role:

A Principal Condensed Matter Physicist plays a pivotal role in developing advanced quantum- and condensed matter-based platforms for precise sensing, detection, timing, and measurement systems. As part of this team, you will work on cutting-edge projects, conceiving, designing, modeling, testing, and characterizing novel methods for using room-temperature condensed matter structures to surpass conventional detectors.

Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in condensed matter physics or a closely related field is necessary.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantum solid-state systems and sensing (theory, modeling, simulation, experiment, and/or implementation and testing) is required.
  • A strong background in condensed matter theory, along with the ability to capture, understand, and model physical phenomena, is essential.
  • Excellent understanding of low-dimensional structures and collective and emergent phenomena is crucial.
  • Strong competency in a computing environment such as MATLAB, Python, Mathematica, or similar is required.
  • The individual must be highly self-motivated and thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability and willingness to support and lead business development, write proposals, white papers, and technical documents are necessary.
  • A track record of successful external funding capture is desirable.
  • Ability to deliver technical presentations to internal groups and external sponsors is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to brief non-technical audiences, are essential.
  • Experience leading projects is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with simulation and computation software is highly desirable.
  • Experience performing laboratory experiments and evaluating prototypes is beneficial.
