Software Engineering Manager

CoStar Group is a leading global provider of commercial and residential real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces. As a Technical Manager on the Platform Development team, you will play a key role in expanding the data platform that supports all of CoStar Group's largest brands.
This position is located in Washington, D.C. and offers a schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote. You will lead an Agile software development team, lead Scrum ceremonies, and deliver done-done features to customers at high velocity.
Promote a can-do attitude, engineering mindset, and collaboration as fundamental team values. Influence web application architecture and CI/CD pipeline improvements. Drive continuous improvement by focusing on engineering excellence.
Translate business requirements into technical requirements, develop project plans, and work schedules for use by the Scrum development team. Successfully implement software development projects to specification and within scheduled timelines and budget parameters.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other Agile teams to deliver large initiatives. Develop a roadmap and work with recruiting to identify, hire, and onboard top industry talent.
Develop and maintain an in-depth working knowledge of the CRE Industry and CoStar's business model/technology. Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be used to strengthen CoStar's technology platform and development practices.
Adopt an owner-operator mindset and demonstrate full ownership of the product and technical platforms. Act as the 'Voice of the Customer' when participating in product readiness reviews.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit university or college.
- A track record of commitment to prior employers.
- 7+ years of relevant development experience.
- 3+ years' experience in modern web and database technologies.
- 3+ years' experience building large distributed, API-driven systems.
- 3+ years of experience leading Agile Teams.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and design patterns.
- Solid experience with the following technologies: C#, .NET Core, and SQL Server.
- Experience leading technical teams, working through complex requirements, and offering relevant, timely technical solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (direct reports, peers, and senior management).
- Excellent team building, negotiation, and consensus building abilities.
- Ability to motivate and build high-performance software development teams.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, and Vue is desired.
- Experience with the AWS platform.
- Experience with non-relational databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, or ElasticSearch.
- Experience with relational databases (preferably SQL Server).
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration.
- Commercial Real Estate (CRE) knowledge is a bonus.

This position offers a base salary range of $147,700 - $258,400, based on relevant skills and experience, and includes a generous benefits plan.
