Human Resources Strategist for Talent Development

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai seeks an experienced Human Resources Strategist for Talent Development to drive employee relations and labor strategies across multiple business functions.
This dynamic role will involve developing strategic workforce plans, advising on organizational development needs, and addressing human capital concerns. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures, as well as experience in recruitment, sourcing, and compensation management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversight of human resources responsibilities across the institution, leveraging data-driven insights to improve processes and outcomes.
- Handling internal investigations, collaborating with Legal and Compliance departments, and managing grievances related to collective bargaining agreements.
- Development and maintenance of departmental standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with institutional and departmental policies, as well as government and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration with leadership to identify personnel needs, workforce planning strategies, and search assignments.
- Serving as HR liaison with department administrators and professional staff, providing guidance on ISMMS policies and procedures, and facilitating conflict resolution.
- Advisement on HR policies, Faculty handbook interpretations, leave procedures, and training programs related to employee relations and policies.
- Maintenance of professional knowledge through educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing networks, benchmarking best practices, and participating in professional societies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- At least six years of progressive HR Generalist experience, with proven track record of relationship building and demonstrated business acumen.
- Experience with recruitment, sourcing, compensation knowledge, job analysis, general compensation practices, and salary structure design.
- Able to handle employee conflicts and differences, detecting perceptions and needs of staff.
- Demonstrated HR knowledge and experience in a technology organization, preferably.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is estimated to be between $140,000 and $261,661 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. The Mount Sinai Health System offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
