About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our team for a 13-week contract in Newburgh, IN. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing MRI examinations of the brain, body, spine, and extremities on patients of all ages.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs MRI examinations of the brain, body, spine, and extremities on patients of all ages.
  • Selects and modifies technical factors to enhance images.
  • Determines appropriate equipment for scanning.
  • Must be able to closely follow a physician's instructions.
  • Prepares and operates MRI equipment.
  • Positions patients correctly and effectively records the requested diagnostic images.
  • Identifies gross pathology in the human body and adjusts T1 and T2 scanning parameters.
  • Performs Diffusion studies, MR Angiograms, reformats, and MIP imaging.
  • Uses magnetic resonance and adjusts parameters to minimize exposure to patient and self.
  • Follows established protocols and uses scanning techniques.
  • Photographs, archives, and retrieves images.
  • Performs quality control for procedures and equipment.
  • Documents systems failures and variances in the appropriate logbook.
  • Certified to start and remove IV lines for contrast studies.
  • Identifies and responds to IV contrast reactions.
  • Responsible for performing comprehensive screening of patients and other individuals before allowing them to enter the MR system room.
  • Reviews each examination for technical accuracy.
  • Presents completed examination to radiologist.
  • Communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
  • Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images.
  • Ensures proper film identification on all images.
  • Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in the radiology field.
  • Registered with the ARRT.
  • One (1) year of experience in related field preferred.
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR if applicable.
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
