Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our fast-paced, ambulatory gastroenterology practice at Massachusetts General Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of our clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical care to patients with general GI conditions, including new, urgent, and follow-up visits.
- Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and patient care coordinators, to ensure excellent patient outcomes and experiences.
- Evaluate patients, order tests and procedures, and follow up on results, documenting details in our electronic medical record system.
- Prescribe medications as needed and provide patient care instructions, documenting in the Epic Wrap Up section.
- Assist with answering patient questions, replying to prescription refill requests, and following up on information requests from referring providers.
- Act as a clinical and administrative resource to other clinical GI sub-specialties and participate in quality initiatives and hospital committees as assigned.
- Master's degree in nursing or physician assistant studies.
- Board certification by a recognized NP or PA organization.
- Minimum of 2 years of ambulatory GI experience, with 3+ years preferred.
- Motivated individual with a consistent record of working with diverse healthcare teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with all providers and staff.
- Ability to adapt to change and be flexible in a complex patient population.
- Maintain excellent patient experience scores and requirements for DEA and MCSL licensure/renewal.
