The Anesthesia Care Assistant will be responsible for providing patient care and support in the operating room, including setting up and maintaining anesthesia equipment, monitoring patient vital signs, and assisting anesthesia providers with procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up and maintaining anesthesia equipment, including anesthesia machines, ventilators, and monitors.
- Monitoring patient vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
- Assisting anesthesia providers with procedures, including intubations and extubations.
- Providing patient care and support, including positioning patients and providing emotional support.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment in the operating room, including disposing of biohazardous waste and cleaning equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with one year of experience in a healthcare setting. Certification in Basic Life Support is required within 30 days of hire date. A graduate of an approved school of Anesthesia Technology, Surgical Technology, or Respiratory Therapy is preferred.
