Job Title: PRN Nurse Specialist for Intellectual and Physical Disabilities

Location: Smyrna, TN (Onsite from Day 1)

Duration: 10+ Months Contract (With a possible extension)

We are seeking an experienced PRN Nurse Specialist to join our team at Global Pharma Tek. This is a part-time position with varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Job Description:

The PRN Nurse Specialist reports to the First Aid Center RN and is responsible for performing nursing tasks such as medication observation, treatments, and documentation within the student's health record.

Responsibilities include assessing students at the First Aid Center with a triage approach, recording vital signs, observing students self-administering medications, and documenting progress. The nurse will also oversee the medication observation process, perform treatments as ordered by providers, and respond to medical emergencies on campus.

In addition, the PRN Nurse Specialist will document essential findings in the student's medical record, collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team, and adhere to established protocols and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals who have physical, mental, and developmental disabilities, and possess knowledge of adaptive equipment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.

Requirements:

  • Currently licensed as a practical nurse in the state of TN
  • Possesses knowledge of basic laboratory practices
  • Effective communication and listening skills
  • Ability to provide clear, concise information in a classroom setting
  • Basic knowledge of electronic data usage
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills
  • Basic skills using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 per year (estimated salary range based on location and experience)
