Laboratory Director

Job Summary:
The Laboratory Director at Haywood Regional Medical Center is responsible for leading the laboratory team to achieve high-quality patient care and operational excellence. This role requires a strong background in clinical laboratory management, with expertise in laboratory operations, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Lead the laboratory team to achieve high-quality patient care, including ensuring accurate and timely test results.
- Manage laboratory operations, including staffing, budgeting, and inventory management.
- Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of laboratory services with patient care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory technologies and techniques, and implement new technologies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including HIPAA and CLIA.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science or related field.
- Seven years of experience in a clinical laboratory, with at least three years in a leadership role.
- ASCP MLS/MT certification preferred.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
