Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Consulting Engineer to join our team at Jensen Hughes, a leading consulting firm specializing in risk analysis and engineering solutions. As a Consulting Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting regulatory compliance and risk assessment needs within the nuclear industry.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) models for internal and external hazards, with a focus on optimizing models for risk reduction and performance times.
  • Conduct human reliability analyses and evaluate dependencies within complex systems.
  • Perform accident analysis using specialized modeling codes such as MAAP.
  • Create and update Level II PRA models.
  • Generate calculations to support various PRA applications, including Mitigating Systems Performance Index (MSPI), Maintenance Rule, Risk-Informed Completion Time (RICT), Surveillance Frequency Control Program (SFCP), and 50.69 categorization.
  • Assist utilities in navigating and complying with risk-informed regulatory requirements, including Regulatory Guides 1.200 and 1.174.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience is required.
  • Prior experience in PRA internal events, fire PRA, external hazards, risk-informed applications, online risk tools, or related engineering-based projects is essential.
  • Strong communication and writing skills are a must, given the collaborative nature of our work and the need to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in nuclear power plant engineering, nuclear plant systems, licensing, operations, advanced nuclear technologies, or similar technical areas is highly desirable.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently, would be advantageous in this role.
