About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate pharmacist to join our team at On-Site Rx, Inc. in Hampton, Virginia. As a Staff Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in providing pharmaceutical care to patients and ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications.

Responsibilities
  • Review and verify medication orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medical guidelines and patient-specific factors.
  • Accurately and efficiently dispense prescription medications, including labeling, packaging, and counseling patients on proper usage and potential side effects.
  • Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients, addressing questions and concerns, and offering guidance on medication adherence.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy, participate in medication therapy management, and provide clinical consultations as needed.
  • Monitor patient profiles for drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications, taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, conduct medication error reviews, and assist in maintaining a safe and compliant pharmacy environment.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries, concerns, and providing information on over-the-counter medications and healthcare products.
  • Assist in various pharmacy operations, including inventory management, order verification, and adherence to all regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or RPh degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
  • Current and valid pharmacist licensure in the state of practice.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, pharmacotherapy, and pharmacy law.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in payment processing and issuing medication.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software and computer systems.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions.

Work Environment

The pharmacy is open Monday - Thursday, 9:00am – 6:00pm, Friday 9:00am - 4:00pm and Saturday 9:00am – 1:00pm. The pharmacy closes each weekday for lunch, from 1:30 – 2pm. Physical Conditions & Requirements

Work is primarily conducted in a retail pharmacy setting, which may include standing for extended periods. Exposure to various medications and healthcare equipment. Interaction with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to lift and carry boxes or containers of medications and supplies (up to 25 pounds). Manual dexterity for handling medication containers, labels, and pharmacy equipment. Visual acuity for reading small print on prescription labels and using computer screens.
