Job Summary:

As a Front Desk Associate with In-Group Hospitality, you will be the primary point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional service and ensuring a memorable stay. Your role will involve verifying guest payments, answering questions about the hotel and local area, and adhering to brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Registration: Register guests, assign rooms, and accommodate special requests whenever possible.
  • Pre-Registration and Blocking: Assist in pre-registering and blocking rooms for reservations.
  • Credit and Cash Handling: Thoroughly understand and adhere to proper credit, check-cashing, and cash-handling policies and procedures.
  • Room Knowledge: Know room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
  • Sales and Marketing: Present options and alternatives to guests, use suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and promote other hotel services.
  • Communication: Use proper telephone etiquette, communicate services and amenities to guests, and obtain proper identification for tax-exempt guests.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance: Work closely with the housekeeping department to keep room status reports up to date and coordinate requests for maintenance and repair work.
  • Cashiering: Perform cashiering tasks, including bill/invoice settlement, posting charges to guests, and paid outs.
  • Reporting and Safety: Read and initial the pass-on log and bulletin board daily, report any unusual occurrences or requests to management, and maintain awareness of safety and emergency procedures.
Requirements:
  • Physical Demands: Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time, customary in a hotel front office environment.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High School diploma or GED desired.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a hotel environment or customer service required, but we will train the right person.
