Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Horticulture Assistant to join our team at the Logan Campus. This role will provide support to our Extension Agent and Ogden Botanical Gardens manager with garden maintenance, planting educational demonstration plots, and assisting with Extension events.
Responsibilities
- Perform weekly maintenance tasks in the gardens, including weeding, fertilizing, planting, harvesting, pruning, and organizing tools.
- Assist volunteers during workdays at the gardens.
- Support public classes and events through Extension.
- Contribute to crop entries and judging at the Weber County Fair.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Competent English communication skills.
- Able to work outdoors in Utah's summer weather.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Student studying horticulture or a related field.
- Employment experience or education in horticulture and related fields.
- Ability to work well as a team and independently.
