Salary
The estimated annual salary for this role is $153,500 - $230,100, depending on level and experience.
Job Description
As a Rocket Valve Systems Design Engineer at Stoke Inc, you'll have the opportunity to work on designing and developing valve systems for our reusable rockets. You'll be responsible for performing architectural trades, conceptual design, detailed design, and release of hardware, ensuring that the design conforms to fluid or engine system requirements.
You'll work closely with the fluid systems team to develop stage and engine P&IDs in accordance with valve design capabilities, perform structural and CFD analysis, and develop test tooling required to perform thorough component-level development, qualification, and acceptance testing processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need 5+ years of experience in design, build, and testing of rocket engine or rocket stage valve hardware, as well as extensive experience with mechanical design, CAD software, engineering drawings (GD&T per ASME Y14.5), and configuration management.
You'll also need proficiency with operation and testing of hazardous pneumatic systems, cryogenic tests, and executing environmental tests (vibration, thermal cycle, thermal vacuum cycle). Strong knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals and ability to apply that knowledge in practical ways to a fast-paced development program are essential.
