Speech and Language Therapist

Speech-language therapists at BLaST Intermediate Unit #17 work with students who require support in areas such as language delays, articulation deficits, and speech and communication disorders. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in speech and language pathology and certification of clinical competence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, and language impairments.
Develop and implement individualized educational programs to meet the needs of students with speech and language handicaps.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy and provide support to students.
Provide information, support, and instruction to parents and families as needed.
Requirements:
Master's degree in speech and language pathology.
Certification of clinical competence preferred.
Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification as Speech and Language Therapist.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typically quiet to moderate, and the therapist is directly responsible for the safety, well-being, and performance of students. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
