Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Family Services Coordinator. This position plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of The Salvation Army Family Services at the Kahului Corps and provides vital administrative support to the Corps Officers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Lead, oversee, and manage all operations of the Family Service office at the Kahului Corps, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of social services.
  • Client Services: Conduct client interviews to assess needs and determine eligibility for social service programs offered by Family Services, covering both financial and material assistance.
  • Food Pantry Management: Supervise the food pantry, set schedules for food distribution, and manage the distribution process effectively.
  • Community Outreach: Support the Corps officers in organizing Christmas Social Services initiatives such as the Angel Tree program, toy and food drives, distribution of Holiday drives, and community meals during the festive season.
  • Summer Camp Coordination: Collaborate with families to identify eligible youth for participation in TSA summer camps on Oahu, responsible for collecting applications, necessary information, and coordinating transport to and from the camp.
  • Back-to-School Program: Coordinate and execute the Back-to-School program, including procurement of supplies through donations, to support underprivileged students.
  • Human Resources: Handle employee payroll tasks, including managing time exception reports and processing leave of absence forms.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized records of employees and volunteers, and ensure timely processing and submission of Human Resource documents following TSA policies.
  • Compliance: Demonstrate proficiency in the TSA Employee Handbook guidelines and Hawaii and Federal labor laws as they relate to workplace regulations.
  • Vehicle Operations: Ensure employees and volunteers operating TSA vehicles receive the required annual Summit training and MVR checks, liaise with DHQ HR for coordination.

Requirements:

  • Education: AA degree in social services or a high school diploma with a minimum of 2 years' experience in social services or a related field is preferred.
  • License: Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Skills: Self-motivated individual with the capacity to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
