Job Summary

As a Computerized Tomography Scanner Technologist at The University of Chicago Medicine, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. This is a full-time position working 11pm-7:30am in the Rad CT- Hyde Park department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging studies as assigned, applying principles of radiation protection and exercising professional judgment in the performance of imaging procedures.
  • Position patients to ensure proper image capture and select technical factors to achieve optimal results.
  • Utilize computer systems to record patient status and function proficiently with all technical equipment in the diagnostic modality.
  • Assist physicians in performing imaging studies and prepare contrast media for administration to patients.
  • Maintain technical imaging equipment and report any malfunctions or housekeeping issues to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiology technology training in an AMA-approved school.
  • Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required.
  • Current registry by ARRT within 12 months of hire date.
  • Advanced CT certification required (open to new graduates).
  • Licensure by the State of Illinois (IEMA) and CPR training required.
