We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Correctional Officer to join our team at The GEO Group. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of our facilities while providing support and guidance to inmates.

ResponsibilitiesYour primary responsibilities as a Correctional Officer will include:
- Supervising and monitoring inmates in living areas, recreation spaces, dining halls, and visitation rooms.
- Coordinating inmate movement, including conducting counts and responding to emergencies.
- Maintaining safe program activities and supervising labor crews.
- Conducting shakedowns for contraband materials and confiscating prohibited items.
- Documenting inmate activities, including disciplinary reports.
- Providing prompt assistance to injured, ill, or traumatized inmates.
- Reporting maintenance and repair needs to ensure a clean and safe environment.
To be successful as a Correctional Officer, you must have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent certification.
- College coursework or advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services, or a related field (preferred).
- Training in cultural diversity or sensitivity (preferred).
- Possession of applicable state requisites for employment.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Ability to handle physical and mental stress associated with working extended hours.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Physical alertness on any assigned shift.
- Ability to work up to 16 hours within a rolling 24-hour period.
- Work experience in a correctional setting (preferred).
- A valid state driver's license.
- Maturity, flexibility, and ability to command respect and confidence from inmates and staff.
$43,000 - $53,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
