Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Community Operations Coordinator to join our team in ensuring the seamless operation of our communities. This role will provide critical support to our on-site teams, supervisory staff, and external agencies in maintaining high-quality affordable housing services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with on-site teams, supervisory staff, and external partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Support the Property Manager in overseeing community operations, including rent collection, tenant relations, occupancy management, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct proactive audits as assigned by the Field Operations Administrator to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with onsite teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), including timely re-renting of vacant units and adherence to management plans.
  • Process applications and leases according to Tenant Selection Plan guidelines, ensuring compliance with HUD regulations and management policies.
  • Verify applicant information and lease agreements through established procedures outlined in the Operational Policies and Procedures Manual (OPPM).
  • Ensure 100% completion of semi-annual unit inspections and work with onsite teams to correct deficiencies.
  • Coordinate recertification notices and annual recertifications, adhering to management timelines and OPPM requirements.
  • Maintain excellent tenant relations, adhering to Fair Housing laws and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local government agencies and other stakeholders, promoting collaborative partnerships and community engagement.
  • Submit timely reports, including monthly occupancy and accounting reports, to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate and secure maintenance of tenant files and office records, adhering to HUD regulations and company standards.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent required; two years' experience managing assisted housing under HUD Section 202/8, 202, or 811 Programs preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a genuine interest in people and ability to build strong relationships.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to make quick yet reasonable decisions.
  • A professional demeanor when handling resident and employee relations, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality in managing community affairs.
  • Demonstrated integrity, respect, and responsibility in dealing with residents and colleagues.
  • Preferred bilingual and fluent in the language of the community, with strong written and oral communication skills.
Working Conditions

This role requires occasional local travel and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, soil, pollen, grass, plant materials, and fertilizer. You must be able to work evenings or weekends as needed and have a valid California Driver's License, proof of current vehicle insurance, and a driving record that meets TELACU Industries insurer's criteria.
