Maintenance Technician Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Channel Control Merchants. As a key member of our Distribution Center operations, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Perform routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance and repairs on engines, motors, pumps, pneumatic tools, hydraulics, conveyor systems, production machines, and forklifts to improve reliability
* Make preventative maintenance checks and inspections as required and on time
* Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments according to production specifications
* Inspect machinery to identify issues that may lead to unplanned downtime
* Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems to maintain expected machine performance
* Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, using testing devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure proper operation and safety of the system
* Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components
* Diagnose and troubleshoot simple to complex mechanical issues
* Support Distribution Center operations by providing a full range of multi-craft equipment maintenance with a focus on reliability
* Complete all internal reporting processes timely and accurately; adhere to all required protocols and procedures
* Effectively communicate with Conveyor/Forklift Maintenance Manager to ensure coordination of activities
* Communicate professionally with Distribution Center personnel and/or leadership regarding important repair steps taken, parts ordered, and estimated time to complete repairs or projects
* Maintain current and accurate maintenance data to establish historical records and future maintenance requirements
* Maintain proper housekeeping expectations for work area, equipment, and tools
* Ability to maintain confidential information
* Ability to exercise sound judgment

**Requirements:**

* Must have ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
* Be able to bend, squat, kneel, push, pull, twist, and stand for long periods of time
* Ability to climb ladders
* Able to work in hot, cold, dry, and/or wet conditions
* Able to work around noise
* Background check required (unless internal promotion)

**Salary:**

$16.00 per hour
