Job Summary

The Scheduling Coordinator is a critical role within our Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin team, responsible for coordinating and managing patient appointments, surgeries, and other medical procedures. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills to ensure efficient scheduling and optimal patient flow.

We are seeking an experienced Scheduling Coordinator who can effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to align schedules and ensure availability. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and procedures using our electronic health records (EHR) system.
  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Handle incoming calls and inquiries from patients regarding appointments and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient demographics and insurance information in the EHR system.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure effective time management and minimize patient wait times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a medical scheduling or administrative role in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in using EHR systems, such as EPIC, and other medical scheduling software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.

Salary

$45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
