Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing general nursing care and leadership, working collaboratively with physicians and integrated team members of Health Ministries Clinic.

The nurse will promote and restore patient's health as they prescribe, provide, delegate, evaluate, and coordinate comprehensive professional nursing care through the use of the nursing process for patients of all ages, gender, cultures, and backgrounds; provide physical and psychosocial support to patients, friends, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate and collaborate with providers, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimum primary care
  • Create and contribute to patients' electronic medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and render treatment to all ages as ordered by a healthcare provider
  • Respond appropriately to inquiries, concerns, and complaints from patients, parents, or caregivers
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts
  • Counsel and educate patients and family members before, during, and after appointments
  • Assist with tracking of outside lab tests, procedures, radiology, and referral reports as assigned
  • Assist with tracking and maintaining a medical supply inventory
  • Follow clinic policies and procedures
Work Environment

This position is located in an environmentally controlled medical office with a fast-paced environment and occasional high-pressure or emergent situations.

Possible exposure to bodily fluids, infectious specimens, communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a medical office environment.

Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies, and other members of the public.

Frequent standing, walking, grasping, carrying, reaching, bending, stooping, and speaking.

Occasional sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds, with assistance if needed.

May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled, with assistance if needed.

Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy, and fax machine and phone.
