Job Overview

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a highly skilled Human Resource and Payroll Assistant to join our team. As a key member of the Facilities Management department, this individual will play a critical role in supporting human resources functions, including time reporting, payroll processing, benefits administration, and maintaining employee files.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the hiring process, including posting job openings, screening applications, and scheduling interviews.
  • Process payroll-related transactions, such as payroll calculations, deductions, and benefit enrollments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, vacation balances, and sick leave records.
  • Provide administrative support for various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • No experience required, but a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education and/or experience requirement.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time regular position, Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. The University of Pittsburgh offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.


Salary Range

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
