Payroll Specialist

St. John's Riverside Hospital seeks a skilled Payroll Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our payroll department, you will be responsible for the bi-weekly process of payroll using UKG Dimension and Meditech 6.7.

The ideal candidate will have minimum 2 years of relative experience and a college degree or equivalent combination of experience and education. General Accounting and Payroll knowledge is essential, with hospital experience preferred. Knowledge of Workforce Dimensions and proficiency in MS Excel are also highly desirable.

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

• Process bi-weekly payroll using UKG Dimensions and Meditech 6.7
• Run various bi-weekly payroll reports, adjustments, and special payments
• Prepare payroll checks and direct deposit notices for delivery and distribution
• Compile, distribute, and file W-2s
• Transmit payroll reports to banks, communicate with banks regarding payroll discrepancies, and review Positive Pay files daily
• Prepare and submit union dues, funds, and reports monthly
• Confirm and mail bi-weekly withholding checks
• Prepare all special check requests
• Respond to management and employee questions and inquiries by phone and email
• Prepare payroll reports for grant vouchering, all other reports as requested
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing, as well as annual audits

• Minimum 2 years of relative experience and a college degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
• General Accounting and Payroll knowledge
• Hospital experience preferred
• NYSNA and 1199 Union experience a plus
• Knowledge of Workforce Dimensions preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills required
• Proficient in MS Excel
