We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Specialist to join our team at Yale University. The successful candidate will provide specialized nursing support to the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Division, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences.

Responsibilities include clinical care team, procedure/recovery rooms, and third-party activities. The ideal candidate will have flexibility to cover clinical locations in New Haven, CT, and Westport, CT, as well as weekends/holidays on a rotational basis.

Essential Duties:

  • Performs Physical Assessments: Conduct thorough physical assessments of patients, including triage duties and advising on treatment or course of action.
  • Nursing Services Problems: Identify and evaluate nursing services problems and develop appropriate programs and services, including assessing staffing needs and arranging coverage as needed.
  • Nursing Care Plans: Develop, implement, and manage nursing care plans in collaboration with physicians.
  • Patient Education: Instruct patients and families in proper treatment and advise on health maintenance and disease prevention.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Provide leadership, guidance, direction to clinical staff, and collaborate with nursing at all levels.
  • Infection Control: Determine standards for quality assurance and infection control procedures; train staff in universal and isolation precautions.
  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Measures: Perform diagnostic and therapeutic measures in collaboration with physicians.
  • Evaluation and Record Keeping: Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and nursing services; record patients' medical histories and symptoms.
  • Medication Administration: Administer treatment and medications, coordinate with patient follow-up and rehabilitation, and maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and two years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut or Connecticut license eligible.
  • Current CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Infertility experience.
  • Previous conscious sedation experience.
  • Previous experience teaching medical protocols to patients.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Yale University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
