Patient Experience Representative

Join Boston Children's Hospital as a Patient Experience Representative and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and administrative support in our Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide positive and effective customer service to patients, families, and visitors, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
- Schedule patient encounters and procedures, coordinating with providers, departments, and institutions to optimize resource utilization and patient flow.
- Answer and screen telephone calls, recording and forwarding messages, and triaging calls for urgent information or services.
- Collaborate with referring providers and practices to manage complex patient issues, ensuring timely and effective communication.
- Greet and direct patients, families, and visitors, maintaining a welcoming and respectful environment.
- Monitor daily schedules and patient flow, identifying opportunities to optimize resource utilization and patient experience.
- Communicate with clinicians and supervisors, routing patients and visitors to maintain efficient patient flow.
- Serve as a liaison with Engineering, ESD, Biomedical Engineering, and Materials Management to resolve equipment, supply, cleaning, and safety issues.
- Collect and organize medical records, information, materials, and supplies required for admissions or encounters.
- Verify, record, and process patient demographics, insurance, and referral information for patient encounters.
- Collect, compile, and forward related documentation for reimbursement.
- Superb customer service skills, with a keen attention to detail and strong computing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a minimum of five shifts in a six-week period, including weekend shifts and holiday shifts.
- A high school level of educational development, with preferred experience in customer service, administration, or healthcare settings.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
